Facts about World Energy
Population growth and advanced digitalization in recent years have caused the demand for power to increase.
We are also faced with CO2 emission and other environmental problems. When analyzing the breakdown of power consumption, it is said that roughly half of the power is used by motor-related equipment, which shows the importance of controlling the motors effectively.
Sanken Electric's motor drivers contribute to efficiency by helping the conversion of applications including air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines into inverter types.
High Voltage 3-phase Brushless Motor Driver Applications
Conversion to inverter type applications is expected to expand rapidly worldwide.
Due to the rapid growth in demand to save energy, products that were formerly manufactured as non-inverter types are being converted to inverter types.
As a result, they have been adopted in regions where there are large fluctuations in power voltages, due to unstable voltage conditions. For motor drivers, there is demand for products with withstand voltage of 600V or higher so that they will not be destroyed when the power supply voltage fluctuates.

Featured Products
The SIM6890M series are high voltage 3-phase motor drivers in which transistors, pre-drive circuits, and bootstrap diodes are highly integrated.
They can run on a 3-shunt current detection system and optimally control the inverter systems of low- to medium-capacity motors that require universal input standards.
The output transistors have a breakdown voltage of 600 V, and a rated current of 2.5 A to 10 A.
In addition to the existing extensive protection functions, we newly integrated the temperature sensing function into the SIM6890M series.
SAM2 Series
The SAM2 series are 3-phase brushless motor drivers in which output transistors, pre-drive circuits, bootstrap diodes with current-limiting resistors, and a temperature-sensing thermistor are highly integrated.
We are planning to offer a product lineup that includes the products having output transistors with a breakdown voltage of up to 1200 V, and a rated current of up to 50 A.
The SAM2 series are suitable for a high-capacity 3-phase motor driving system such as industrial equipment.
The SIM2600M series are high voltage 3-phase motor drivers driven by a sinusoidal control supporting Hall element inputs and thus offer high-efficient/low-noise motor control.
Supplied in a thermally enhanced DIP package where a controller, a gate driver, per-phase output transistors, and bootstrap diodes are built in, they need only a few external components for a motor driver. The output transistors have a breakdown voltage of 600 V, and a rated current of 2.5 A to 5 A.
They can optimally control the inverter systems of low-/medium-capacity motors with universal inputs.
